LAPSE
Lapse is the debut solo performance from Camiel after his graduation. In this performance he struggles with the constraines of time and expectations. Running to catch up and fighting to deliver. In a structure of 4 meters high Camiel works his way towards a satisfying climax; to reach the top, to conquer your goals.
Lapse was part of the ‘Voorjaars ontwaken’ (spring awakening) program of Korzo.

Doomed to fall
Doomed to fall is a site specific performance made in commission for a festival in France [La Rue des Enfants]. In, on and around the patio of an orphanage Camiel plays around with the concept of ‘failing but never giving up’. Combining his acrobatic and dance qualities with a clever approach to his surroundings this resulted in a highly energetic performance for all ages.

A short solo about being forgotten or lost. Feeling alone and incomplete. Made on the music of Guy Corneille.

“Old works give a good reference to where we come from. These drawings were the start of my interest in the human body and lead to my exploration into the ‘Superhuman’ theme. I wanted to not only show the vulnerability of the male body but also contrast that with an expertise and high skill in drawing technique. Breaking up the standardised image of a ‘strong man’ but giving myself the power to catch it in every detail.” - Camiel
